Review: Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns is a delicious thriller

Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns is a 2013 Hindi film directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and starring Jimmy Shergill, Mahie Gill, Irrfan Khan and Soha Ali Khan. It is a sequel to the 2011 film Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, which was also directed by Dhulia. The film follows the royal scandal, the war for power and the fight for money that continues with the return of a gangster who seeks revenge.

Irrfan Khan is spectacular as Gangster, the witty and ruthless outsider who returns to take revenge on Saheb and Biwi. He steals every scene he is in with his charisma and comic timing. He also shares a great chemistry with Soha Ali Khan, who plays Ranjana, his love interest and Saheb's half-sister. Soha Ali Khan is at her very best in this film and proves her mettle as an actress. She plays a vulnerable and innocent girl who gets caught in the crossfire of Saheb, Biwi and Gangster.

Raj Babbar is incredible as Birendra Pratap, Ranjana's father and Saheb's rival. He brings a dignity and grace to his role of an aging king who tries to protect his daughter from harm. Deepraj Rana is impressive as Kanhaiya, Saheb's loyal aide who has a hidden agenda of his own. Mugdha Godse makes a special appearance in a dance number that adds some glamour to the film.

Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns is a delicious thriller that delivers on all fronts. It is a rare sequel that surpasses its predecessor in terms of quality and entertainment.
